MUMBAI

Mansi’s journey of giving started with a very small incident, which created a big impact on her heart, which made her think about what she can do, how she can contribute to this society, and it resulted in the formation of this big foundation. It started in Mumbai. Her inspiration, her will to do good for the children of society, came from her work in a municipal school in Mumbai.

It started in Mumbai when Mansi Dalal was volunteering as a counselling psychotherapist for the students in a municipal school. She was interacting with the students of 8th grade; she was stunned/ heartbroken to learn that a student was not able to write their name in English despite having English as one of the subjects.

Mansi decided to do something about it. She decided to bridge the gap between the two; Mansi spoke to the principal of the school and requested to start spoken and written English sessions for the students there, for free. Mansi Dalal believes that language should never be a barrier to education, career opportunities, and having a better life ahead.

Her ideologies inspired many, and they joined hands in contributing to this noble deed. Today, मनRay has a team of 40 teachers, teaching in five municipal schools and vernacular medium schools across Mumbai. Together, the team has developed a curriculum crafted according to the unique and special needs of these children, with continuous ongoing evaluations and dynamic adjustments.

मनRay ray Foundation operates in vernacular schools and two online schools outside Mumbai, with a workforce of approximately 50 teachers who work tirelessly for the betterment of these children. The spoken English program is designed to achieve various objectives, such as efficiency in communicating in English in daily life situations, using English proficiently across various academic subjects, and providing equal job opportunities. This skill will also help in integrating the development of reading, listening, and writing skills. This skill development also aims to build self-confidence and enhance self-image.

Over the past few years, मनRay has been supporting over 7000+ students now. Through this program, मनRay has successfully contributed to improving the language skills and self-confidence among the students. and have 30+ trained volunteer teachers. The Mumbai division's work is mentored by Anuja Shah. They have touched 5500+ children.

A platform for young students from the age of 10 to 20, to understand, engage in the work for the well-being of society, and create a healthy, beautiful impact. Shaping generations also counts in making the changemakers, for which these young minds need to be guided correctly.

It is a program where young school students engage in activities related to social work. They also learn philanthropy through on-ground initiatives like fundraising, donation drives, fundraising, distribution of kits in schools, small social and school events, and community engagement.

  1. Donation drives include the distribution of clothes, books, food kits, and hygiene essentials.
  2. Fundraising campaigns include building support for the less privileged children.
  3. They are also given media work to practise and better understanding.

This program helps the children inculcate the values of empathy and leadership, and a sense of responsibility towards contributing to the betterment of society.

At मनRay, we believe nourishment for change begins at a young age, and मनRay junior makes the foundation stronger.

PALGHAR

Mansi’s journey into Palghar started with a story of a fragile life. Arohi, a small 5-month-old baby girl, needed a life-saving surgery, and her family had no money to save her life. Seeing the helplessness of the family, Mansi Dalal stepped in, supported the little Arohi, and got her operated successfully. Today, Arohi is 6, smiling, thriving, and living.

While supporting Arohi’s father, Mansi Dalal came to know about the silent crisis of the children from the rural areas facing there. These children had lack of access to schools. There were a lot of cases of dropouts, poverty, and period poverty. That is when she decided to take the next step.

For Palghar division, मनRay has three core branches first is the Essential Kit - Hope kit, Atmavishwas project, and Parindey project. All three have different aims and importance. In Palghar, there are 8 talukas, and we have been working in 5 talukas of Manor, Boisar, Saphale, Vikramgadh, Kolgaon, and Masvan, along with the city of Palghar. The Palghar division work is mentored by Rajyeshmani Tripathi.

ESSENTIAL KIT – HOPE KIT PROJECT

A GATEWAY TO LEARNING

At the heart of our work, there is a simple belief – every child in this world deserves to live a life with dignity, study, and grow with a healthy life. We at मनRay make sure the less privileged children get an opportunity to live and build such a life for themselves. Especially, the introduction to these kits in the villages of Kolgaon, Manor, and Palghar worked effectively. We stay beside these children through their journey and give them a chance for better choices and possibilities.

The inspiration for supporting children to keep coming to school came from a small story of a small girl, Priya. At the age of 9, Priya used to walk barefoot to school; she had no proper clothes under her uniform to wear and no stationery, and no school bag as well. She used to carry a plastic bag. During the rain, she had no umbrella or a raincoat to protect herself. But today, she has shoes to walk in, proper clothes, a school full of stationery, a raincoat for rain because of the essential kit, and its donors.

Children used to drop out of school during the winters because it gets very cold there, and they didn’t have any supplies to protect them from the cold. But the essential kit provides them with sweaters and warm clothes, which makes their travel easier and comfortable, and education accessible for them.

It is a kit provided to the students of 1st to 5th grade, which includes a hygiene and sanitation kit, a school bag, books, a set of uniforms, shoes and slippers, stationery, a tiffin and a bottle, new clothes, a raincoat, a sweater, and undergarments. Everything that a school-going student needs for his/her day-to-day life. A gift kit worth ₹4,000 per child. The only condition for this is that the student should have 70% attendance in school. There was an increase in the attendance of students by 25% to 30%. मनRay Foundation was not born from a big plan — but from small moments of deep compassion.

A total of 4000 students are able to attend school due to this initiative.

ATMAVISHWAS KIT PROJECT

SUSTAINING GIRLS’ EDUCATION

Every girl deserves to live her life freely and confidently. But, in some place’s periods are still a stigma or a taboo, which acts as an obstacle in the girl’s life. A normal, natural thing is made the biggest difficulty of her life.

<> Mansi Dalal was teaching in the schools of Palghar for a few years, but once she observed the number of girls who were with her after class 6th and 7th starting to drop, the school was very high, the reason was periods. Girls in these villages have no access to sanitary napkins or care during periods. Sakshi, a 13-year-old girl, was one of these. After she started menstruating, she stopped coming to school. Reason her family couldn’t afford sanitary napkins and panties, which made Sakshi confused, worried about going out, and she skipped school for straight 3 months. That’s when Mansi Dalal decided to help these girls and make education accessible for them. मनRay, work on breaking these beliefs/ norms and give these girls the confidence to live, continue studying, and make them stronger to help other girls as well.
“Maana” sanitary pads were invented for these girls. The name Maana has a very deep, scientific meaning behind it. (Maana) - माना - मान – Respect
In Swahili, Maana means purpose or meaning.
In Arabic, Maana means significance.

The project has been started to give girls confidence for carefree learning. मनRay supports such girls by providing Atmavishwas Kit that includes ‘Maana’ sanitary pads, which have 90 pads in total, 5 period panties, a brochure that explains how to take care and facts about menstruation. मनRay also arranges workshops to help girls understand the entire process of menstruation and about menstrual awareness. A self-hygiene kit is also given, which consists of soap, a comb, and oil. The only condition is that girls should have 70% attendance in school.

“For you, Maana, it represents respect, purpose, and empowerment—all the things you bring into the lives of so many children!” -Mansi Dalal.

With Maana - “Ab Padhna Hai Aasan.”

A total of 4500 students are able to attend school due to this initiative.

PARINDEY PROJECT

SHAPING TOMORROW’S LEADERS.

It is always said that study hard today for a better tomorrow. Keeping this in mind, मनRay believes in giving wings to such students to fly. We have taken the initiative to support the students with less backup for higher education, but who have the ability and willingness to study.

The students of मनRay Parindey are mostly the first-generation learners of their families. The families of these students generally work as daily wage labourers who can barely afford a living. Due to this, their children tend to drop out the school. Deepak was one of the students who faced such a situation; his parents are daily wage workers in Palghar. Deepak was in the 7th standard when he had to drop out of school because his parents couldn’t afford his fees. His teachers were worried he might not be one of the forgotten students after being a bright child. But then, because of the help of मनRay Parindey, Deepak was not only re-admitted to the school but the support of the scholarship program, he received full financial support. Because of this, today, Deepak has completed the 12th standard and is preparing to join the Navy.

This project was started in 2022 to support students in completing their higher education after completing 10th and 12th grade. The condition is to secure 70% in 10th grade and 65% in 12th grade. The students have to submit their family income certificate. Their entire support, guidance for education is provided by मनRay. In the year 2022 Parindey project had 17 students, it had 35 students by 2023, 100 students by 2024, and 120 as of 2025. Students are able to accomplish their dreams of becoming lawyers, engineers, doctors, and also prepare for and appear for the exams of UPSC, MPSC, etc, because of मनRay’s support.

All of these are possible due to the support of our divine donors; their contribution makes it possible to get the essentials like fees, books, uniforms, etc, for these students. Today, because of donors, मनRay has been able to foster 100+ students and 300+ since its inception.

Through Essential Kit – Hope Kit project, Atmavishwas Kit, and Parindey Project, मनRay has touched over 10000+ hearts till now, and the journey keeps going forward with more energy, enthusiasm, and hard work.
